The Super Bowl Halftime performer is chosen by Roc Nation, or more specifically, by founder Jay-Z himself. “It’s a decision that Jay makes,” Super Bowl executive producer Jesse Collins told Variety. “Since we’ve been on board with that show, he’s made it every year, and it’s been amazing. He’s always picked right!” Since Roc Nation took the reins in 2019, they’ve showcased headliners like Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, Usher, and a whole lot of special guests.

Taylor Swift’s name has always been thrown around for the Super Bowl Halftime show. When Bad Bunny was announced as the performer, Taylor Swift went on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to talk about her reluctance to take America’s biggest stage.

“That is violent chess. That is gladiators without swords. That is dangerous,” she said. “The whole season I am locked in on what that man (Kelce) is doing on the field.” However, she did say that her fiance would be cheering for her from the sidelines. “He would love for me to do it. I’m just too locked in,” she said.
With retirement talks looming over Travis Kelce, it may be more of a possibility that she can headline Super Bowl LXI.
