Why did Britney Spears and Sam Asghari break up? According to TMZ, it all started with a big confrontation.

Sam confronted Britney over rumors she stepped out on him. We do not know if the rumor has any basis in fact, but we’re told Sam believed it and the 2 had a huge fight. Sam has also reportedly moved out of their house and is now living in a place of his own. As one source put it, “It’s only a matter of time before Sam files for divorce.”

TMZ first reported that Britney and Sam were on the rocks. The site reported that Britney got in a physical fight with Sam and screaming matches were frequent. The site also reported that it became so “volatile,” security has had to step in.

 TMZ also reported in June 2022 that Britney and Sam signed a prenup stating that Sam wouldn’t receive any money Britney made before their wedding date if they divorced in the future.

Sam confirmed in an Instagram Story in September 2021 that he and Britney had plans to sign an “iron-clad prenup” after their engagement that month. His post came after thousands of fans, including actress Octavia Spencer, told Britney to sign a prenup before she married Sam. “Make him sign a prenup,” Octavia commented at the time on Britney’s engagement post. In response to the comments, Sam took to his Instagram to joke about how he and Britney planned to sign a prenup to “protect his jeep and shoe collection.” He wrote, “Thank you everyone who is concerned about The Prenup! Of course we’re getting [an] iron clad prenup to protect my jeep and shoe collection in case she dumps me one day.” He accompanied his post with two laughing emojis.

Sam Asghari Files For Divorce

Hours after their split was reported, Sam Asghari filed for divorce from Britney Spears. According to TMZ, Sam is asking for spousal support and attorneys fees. The divorce documents reveal “[Sam] has yet to determine the full nature and extent of the separate property assets and obligations of each party.” The doc continued, “There are various items of community and quasi-community assets and debts, the full nature and extent of which are unknown to [Sam] at this time.”

Did Britney Spears cheat on Sam Asghari?

Sources close to Britney have denied that cheating was a factor in the split. A source tells Entertainment Tonight that Spears “has not been doing well” amid the split.

“She has been denying any cheating allegations and going through a lot of emotions,” the source says. “She is hurt because the situation brings up old feelings for her. This is the last thing she needed, especially after her boys moved to Hawaii, being worried about the fires there, and so on.
She has been trying to get back on her feet and be healthy emotionally, physically, and mentally.
Britney has people by her side and her immediate circle is there for her. They are rallying around her.”

Of the rumored rift, another source told the site, “Britney and Sam have had ups and downs throughout their relationship. They have a lot of love for each other, but they also argue a lot over fundamental issues. Sometimes they feel as though each other’s needs aren’t being completely met. Recently, things took a bad turn and their arguments became more serious and real.”

A separate source told the site that Spears and Asghari “have had issues on and off as a couple since before they were married.”

The source continues, “Their issues tend to get worse when they are away from each other and spending time apart. Britney has the tendency to feel like she isn’t being prioritized by Sam at times. Their arguments have led them to become unhappy at times in their relationship. They are also on different pages when it comes to their future as a couple, which has been a point of contention.”

Meanwhile, another source adds, “Sam feels like he has gone above and beyond to support Britney and be there for her and like it is never enough.” 

A source familiar with the situation told NBC News, “They’re separated and it’s best for Britney.” Other sources told People, “It’s been very toxic between them for a long time. Their marriage has been on the rocks for months. There has been constant drama. It’s sad. A divorce would be devastating for Britney.”
