Zoe Kravitz’s engagement ring made its debut on Halloween Eve, October 30, 2023. She and Tatum were photographed leaving a costume party on October 29, she dressed as Rosemary Woodhouse from the 1968 film Rosemary’s Baby and Tatum—we guess as the devil’s spawn baby?—with a rather large oval-cut diamond ring around the appropriate finger. By way of an anonymous source, People confirmed their engagement but didn’t say when or how it happened.

Kravitz spoke to GQ last November about working with Tatum on Pussy Island, the set of which is where they met, giving rare detail on their dynamic. “Whether it was making me tea or pouring me a drink or going to whip someone into shape or whatever—he really was my protector, and it was really wonderful and sweet,” she added. “I think if you can do something like that together, it’s a good test. And we came out even stronger.” She also explained why they’ve decided to keep the relationship private. “You want to keep it sacred and private as long as you can. So that you don’t have to even think about what the world thinks about it.”

Tatum was previously married to his Step Up co-star Jenna Dewan. The two met on the set of the dance movie in 2006 and remained pretty private about their relationship. The Logan Lucky star popped the question in 2008 in Hawaii, according to People, and got married the following year in Malibu, California. The two have a daughter Everly, born in 2013.

In a Step Up press conference, he said about his partner at the time. “Jenna’s very, she’s obviously beautiful, but she really, really is as beautiful inside as she is out. She’s really real. She loves to teach people how to not come from a place of insecurity, just, you know, come from a place of love, I guess. She’s a big fairy, flower child. [She’s] a beautiful soul, a beautiful soul.”

In 2018,  the former couple announced that they would be splitting. “We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple,” the Step Up costars said in a joint statement at the time. “We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now.

We are still a family and will always be loving dedicated parents to Everly.” In October 2018, Jebba officially filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences.” The divorce was finalized in November 2019.
