As Hermione Granger in “Harry Potter,” Emma Watson was a hero to girl-nerds everywhere who loved to learn. Now, the actress-turned–U.N. Goodwill Ambassador is using her platform to promote a very different kind of learning: the kind that involves better orgasms.
On Wednesday, Watson sat down with Gloria Steinem on stage at London’s How to: Academy to talk all things feminism and brought up a website that she’d been, ahem, turned on to by a friend.
OMGYes is an instructional sex website devoted to the woefully understudied field of female pleasure, backed by research into the specific sexual likes, dislikes, and techniques of more than 2,000 women ages 18 to 95, conducted in conjunction with Indiana University and the Kinsey Institute.
“It’s a pretty cool website,” Watson explained, smirking along with the giggling crowd. “I wish it had been around longer.”
“Definitely check it out,” she added. “It’s an expensive subscription, but it’s worth it.”

Access to the site is $29, but despite what Watson calls it (and what some other outlets have reported), it isn’t a subscription, but rather a onetime fee for access to the website’s videos and research. And whoa, the videos: There are 50 of them, each less than four minutes long, and many are touchable—meaning tactile learners can get a feel (sorry) for techniques like edging, staging, hinting, and multiples with the aid of virtual vaginas and encouraging voice-overs.
We haven’t taken it for a spin yet, but our friends over at SheKnows have, and frankly it sounds like a revelation: no creepy euphemisms, no dry anatomy lessons, and plenty of diverse, honest perspectives on a topic that’s rarely discussed.
Thanks, Em. Way to spread the good word.
