The Australian Brand That Needs to be on Your Beauty Radar
Thanks to Instagram we’re able to see what fellow beauty lovers are coveting across the globe. Yet sadly, it can be hard to actually get your hands on international finds. So naturally, when a cult-favorite from overseas jumps stateside, we must get our hands on it ASAP. Serendipitously a delivery of Australian-favorite skin care brand, Lano, landed on our desks recently to coincide with the brand’s launch on Net-A-Porter. After testing the lanolin product for ourselves, we quickly learned what all the fuss was about. The Aussies are onto something.
Formulated with the highest quality lanolin (a natural substance that’s taken from freshly shorn sheep’s wool), Lano’s products are 98 to 100 percent natural. And they’re put through the wringer to get there. The lanolin is refined and cleaned to remove all external impurities, scent, and color, thus making it the most natural form of lanolin in the land.
Now if you’re wondering what exactly lanolin is perfect for, let’s just say, well everything. Imaging a Vaseline or Aquaphor-type salve, only all natural and less tacky and gloppy. The multipurpose balm of Lano is smooth and dissolves into skin much better than any other similar product we’ve tried. Use it on your lips, your cuticles, knuckles, elbows—literally anywhere that needs a little TLC.
We tested the Lanolips Original 101 Ointment ($19, net-a-porter.com) and were instantly hooked. We opted to wear a generous coating of the ointment on our lips as an overnight treatment. Unlike other balms we’ve tried, this one wasn’t oily, sticky, or annoying. It was instantly soothing and kept lips hydrated all night. When we woke up, our lips were nice and soft—a feat we truthfully didn’t expect it to accomplish after one night.
Lucky for us our latest addiction comes in many forms—some for the hands, some with shimmer, some with different flavors. Despite the different uses and flavorings, not one product dips below the 98 percent natural mark, making these true winners in our book.
