You’ll Never Guess Which Bridgerton Star Is Most Like Their Character, According to The Real-Life Cressida

Yes, it’s a fictional universe but Jessica Madsen, who plays Cressida Cowper in the hit series Bridgerton has revealed which actor is most like their character and we’re swooning. Season 3 part one arrived on Netflix on May 16, 2024, and it’s all we’ve been able to talk about.

“I feel like Luke Newton [is most like his character,” she says. “He’s kind and sweet and he’s such a man, you know? We really see Colin this season come into his man era. He’s a gentleman and he cares a lot about his family and his friends. Luke is super caring and he always checks in.”

Luke also tops Madsen’s list for best dancers, though he shares that title with Hannah Dodd, who plays Francesca Bridgerton. “Hannah was/is a dancer so she’s got the moves, but Golda [Rosheuvel, who plays Queen Charlotte] has the moves too,” says Madsen.

In her interview with StyleCaster, Madsen said she hopes for a redemption arc for Cressida in the coming seasons, despite being such a bully. “We’ve seen her break down, and I don’t mean break down in the sense of falling to pieces, but we’ve seen her open up and I think once you open, you’re receptive to change,” she says. “I hope that by the end of the season, people don’t forget the beginning.”
